AI-ready Digital Infrastructure and Nation Building

The future of India’s digital economy hinges on more than just innovative algorithms, it depends on a resilient, intelligent infrastructure that can keep pace with the rapidly evolving demands of artificial intelligence. As AI reshapes industries and everyday life, building a robust and scalable digital foundation is essential to unlocking its full potential for every citizen across the country.

As India accelerates toward becoming a $10 trillion digital-first economy, artificial intelligence has emerged as a defining force. AI is transforming industries, empowering citizens and creating new value across every sector. Yet, the true potential of AI will only be realized if it is supported by infrastructure that is as intelligent, distributed, and responsive as the algorithms it powers.

India is rapidly emerging as a global AI powerhouse, with the domestic market projected to grow at 35% CAGR through 2027, ranking second globally after the United States (excluding China). AI workloads already demand up to five times more compute and three times more power than traditional applications, prompting 75% of new data centers worldwide to be AI-ready.

In India, AI data center capacity is expected to grow by 80% by 2027 and another 40% by 2030. The IndiaAI Mission, launched in 2024, aims to deploy 18,000 to 29,000 GPUs under a ₹104 billion plan, reinforcing the country’s focus on sovereign AI infrastructure. This momentum signals a structural transformation in how and where compute is delivered.

To meaningfully contribute to this momentum, at Techno Digital we are committed to building digital infrastructure that is accessible, sustainable, and seamlessly integrated into everyday life. We have allocated $1 billion to develop a nationwide network of AI-ready hyperscale and edge data centers. These facilities are not isolated installations, they form part of a larger blueprint, built on the back of deep engineering expertise in energy systems and cost-efficient, scalable execution.

Our infrastructure strategy is strengthened by strategic partnerships including collaboration with RailTel, one of India’s most trusted telecom infrastructure providers. By leveraging their extensive fiber footprint and deep understanding of national network topologies, we are able to build infrastructure that is both future-proof and responsive to the evolving needs of an AI-first economy.

Importantly, we are not just responding to demand, we are actively shaping it by deploying 3 AI-ready hyperscale and 102 edge data centers across 23 states in India. With strategic anchors established in key metros, our live sites are already supporting real-time digital services across major regions. Additional locations are in advanced stages of development to expand capacity.

Our expansion aligns with India’s national digital priorities, including the IndiaAI Mission, BharatNet, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act. By reaching into Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, we are helping democratize AI and bring real-time capabilities to industries and citizens that have been on the periphery of the digital economy. While our current focus remains on colocation and hyperscale builds, we are steadily evolving toward a full-stack infrastructure model. Our goal is to transition from infrastructure provision to intelligence delivery, meeting India’s digital demands with modularity, speed, and sustainability.

Looking ahead, as hyperscale facilities shape the future of India’s AI economy, our commitment remains firm. We are building infrastructure that not only supports but also accelerates innovation, powering a smarter, more inclusive India, one megawatt at a time.

By deploying compute capacity where it matters most, from urban hubs to emerging tech corridors, we are advancing digital transformation and reinforcing the backbone of the AI economy. Infrastructure may be invisible, but it is the quiet force driving progress. We remain committed to making it agile, inclusive, and future-ready.
